I was just wondering...can you buy clear lensed glasses (without the prescription lenses) in opticians...?
I really want a pair just as a fashion thing, so i just thought if you could still buy a pair as they are on the shelves...Can you buy clear lensed glasses in opticians...?
You can do this, but legally the optician has to test your eyes first, to see if you have a prescription, even if it is very small.
However, if you do have a prescription and you do not wish to have the prescription put into the glasses, then you will probably have to sign a disclaimer saying you hae requested non-prescription lenses. Reason being, if you are wearing the glasses and you are involved in an accident that could have been prevented had the lenses been prescription, the optician would be liable unless they could show you had told them not to give the prescription. Can you buy clear lensed glasses in opticians...?
You can't wear them with the lenses that come in them already. They often have writing or something on them anyway, that doesn't come off.
Those are just a cheap mica lens that is not only full of distortion , but are very dangerous to wear because they break easily into very jagged pieces.
You can get real Plano lenses ( meaning 0 power) put into any frame you want though. Any optical store can do that for you.
That is a very common thing to ask for presciption free glasses (fashion wise). Just go into the optician and say you just need plano lenses and volia, they'll most likely have the lenses in stock and do it within an hour depending on the service they provide.
Yes you can, the lenses are known as plano lenses, you could probably get them cheaper off eBay.
