I know most companies claim they have the clearest but who actually does? Any links to unbiased comparisons of sunglass lenses?
I would say some of the clearest would be Oakley, Maui Jim, Rudy Project, Kaenon, and Costa Del Mar 580 lens.Who makes the Clearest sunglass lens?
this is a bike question why?
wleWho makes the Clearest sunglass lens?
I'd probably say the manufacturers you already listed on a general level.
It can vary with individual models and how they're used though.
With the Oakley models for example, if you're exercising and the lenses are getting smudged from sweat, they're not exactly clear, even if they may be great in normal situations. I'd swear by Oakley's hydrophobic lenses for such things instead.
And someone like Kaenon makes every single lens hydrophobic. They don't have quite the lens and frame options though, so if you're in settings where the lens isn't dark enough, etc., you won't exactly find it ';clear'; in practical terms.
Anyway, for exercise purposes (like running and biking) I quite like Oakley's models like the Flak Jacket and Radar. All lenses are hydrophobic, and lenses can be swapped out for situation. There are a couple other Kaenon models I prefer for more ';fashionable'; settings, but as nice as the lenses are, I don't find them as useful on a practical level for athletic activity. I know some swear by their Kore and Hard Kore models for biking -- I think their C28 lens can be popular, especially if you're going through shaded areas at times or mountain biking. It's also a polarized lens, unlike Oakley's G30, but probably more comparable to Oakley VR28 polarized in light transmission, etc.
Though there can be somewhat objective measures of lens clarity, it's also going to vary with how you're using things, too, when you get to a practical level.
i believe oakley has the best clarity
