Clear Care is a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) system. This is the same stuff that you use to disinfect cuts. If you have ever felt how much it burns when you put it on a cut, you can guess how much it burns if you put it in your eye. The way the system works is that there is a catalyst that turns the H2O2 into H2O plus O2. Once that change has taken place, your contact is in pure saline with no preservatives to irritate your eye. That process takes about 6 hours. When you take the contact out of the special case that comes with the system, it is OK to put in your eye wet. If your lenses need drops, you need another kind of rewetting drops.Clear care contact lens solution?
You are not supposed to put Clear Care contact lens solution in your eyes. If you are using that brand you need to let your contacts soak in the solution for at least 6 hours so that it does not burn your eyes when putting your contacts in. You could use other contact solution or wetting drop if your eyes get dry.
