transitions (or any photochromatic lenses) change from ultraviolet light from the sun (or even lamps).. the material they're made of reacts by darkening.. kind of like a UV detector. they won't get dark as most sunglasses, but they can get pretty dark, especially on a colder day (can't remember exactly why, something to do with the material). the material the lens is made out of absorbs UV as well. because obviously if there's UV getting to them, they're going to darken.
so there's no need to get a UV treatment on your lens if you have photochromatic/transition lenses.. or polycarbonate which naturally absorbs UVHow do transitions lenses change from clear to black?
not totally black it depends on the amount of sunlight you are in for know how dark they will get. if you are in direct then they will come fairly close.
