I want to buy colored contacts online. Can I use my clear contact lens prescription to buy colored contacts.?
No, you need a prescription for the colored contact lenses also. Let's say you wear Acuvue Oasys contacts (clear), and you just want Acuvue color contacts. Sounds simple. But the color contacts are a different base curve than clear, just by one eesnsy tenth of a millimeter, and it's considered a different model of contact lens. (Like cars: different models of Toyota). And the doctors are responsible for the fit of the contacts, so they generally want you to have a trial set that they can examine on your eyes, before writing an Rx (plus I really do think it's sometimes a bit of a money-maker for the drs to do it that way . . .)
Anyway, call your eye doctor and ask if a color contact prescription can be written based on your last exam. Sometimes, they will (depends on different factors).
At your next eye exam, be sure to ask for a prescription for both color and clear contacts. Can I use my clear contact lens prescription to buy colored contacts.?
No. If your prescription is written for clear lenses, then it can only be filled with exactly what the doctor has written on the prescription. If you've never been fit with colored contacts, you will have to see your Optometrist and be fit before they will release a prescription for them. When the lenses are ordered online, they are SUPPOSED to verify your prescription with your doctor before filling it and if you're trying to have it filled with something other than what you've been approved for, your doctor will not verify it and they will not be able to process your order. This is to ensure that people aren't filling expired prescriptions and to make sure that people aren't doing what you're asking to do.
YEs I am sure you can
It doesn't matter what color the contacts are. Or even what brand. What matters is if they have your correct prescription for the lenses.
Typically not. You must be fit with colored lenses in order to have a valid prescription. Talk to your doctor about acquiring one.
The only way that your clear contact lens prescription can be used to buy colored contact lenses, and NOT have the doctor charge you for another visit or evaluation, is if the clear lens comes in a colored version. Those types of lenses are not found as often nowadays. If you are wearing that type, then the eye doctor should be willing to write a prescription or supply you with the lenses without seeing you until your next scheduled appointment.
Otherwise, the design and material of the new colored contact lenses will need to be evaluated on your eye.
no, usually you have to go and get another prescription for any other kind of contacts. I thought the same thing, but i wasn't able to get them without getting a prescription for them :(
Depends on the brand, I've done it before, you can always call your Doc first and see if there's a brand they recommend
yea..im pretty sure
