How do I turn my red lens courtesy light in my car clear?

I have courtesy lights, or ';step lights';, on the inside of my door at the bottom, and it has a red lens cover. I was wondering if there is any way to make it clear so it only shines white instead of red.How do I turn my red lens courtesy light in my car clear?
about all you can do there is change the lens.
